Nicegram Messenger facilitates messaging, voice calls over the internet, and other services for users globally. Our Privacy Policy aims to clarify our practices regarding information (including messages). For instance, we explain what data we gather and how it impacts you.

When we use the terms “Nicegram,” “our,” “we,” or “us,” we’re referring to the Nicegram company. This Privacy Policy applies to all our apps, services, features, software, and website (collectively termed “Services”) unless specified otherwise.

As you may be aware, Nicegram is an unofficial Telegram client, and many of the services you access through Nicegram are actually provided by Telegram. For queries about those services, please refer to Telegram’s Privacy Policy.

The Nicegram application’s source code is publicly accessible, and anyone can review it: Nicegram for Android and Nicegram for iOS.

Information We Collect To provide you with the Services, we collect the following categories of information:

  • Information automatically collected
  • Any other information you voluntarily provide
  • Application usage data

Most data collection and uses outlined in this Privacy Policy are necessary for us to offer the Services. Without your agreement to this Privacy Policy, we cannot provide you access to the Services. Some data collection and uses are not strictly required but related, and our basis is legitimate interests, such as analyzing and improving the Services as further explained.

Information Provided When Using Our Services Account Information: When you sign up as a user of our Services, you’re actually signing up for Telegram, and Nicegram acts as an intermediary. We collect the personal information you choose to provide, which may include your name, email, and phone number. Any information that can identify, relate to, describe, reference, or reasonably associate with or link to a particular consumer, household, or device is considered “Personal Information.”

Information Automatically Collected When Using Our Services Location Data: We collect your location information if you decide to share your location in a chat. This location data is processed like other chat messages. If you share your current location or enable “Make me visible to people nearby,” Nicegram will use your data to display your location to those users you’ve shared it with, even when the app is closed—as long as you keep these features active.

Phone Number and Contacts: Nicegram uses phone numbers as unique identifiers to ease switching from SMS and other messaging apps while retaining your social connections. We request permission before syncing your contacts. We store your up-to-date contacts to notify you when a contact joins Telegram and display their names correctly in notifications. We only need the number and name (first and last) for this, storing no other contact data. Telegram’s algorithms can also use anonymized phone number sets to estimate the potential contacts an unregistered number may have on Telegram. When you open the ‘Invite friends’ interface, we display these statistics next to your contacts to indicate who could benefit most from joining Telegram. You can stop syncing contacts or delete them from our servers in Settings > Privacy & Security > Data Settings.

If using Android, Nicegram will request permission to access your call logs (READ_CALL_LOG). If granted, Nicegram can verify your account by transmitting a phone call instead of asking for a code. Nicegram uses this permission solely to confirm the verification call by checking the call log.

Usage Information: We collect information about your use of the Services, including access times, pages viewed, user and content interactions, and other data about your interactions with our Services.

Device Information: We collect information from and about the devices and browsers you use to integrate with our Services. For example, we collect device type, hardware model, operating system and version, browser type, and language. We may combine this information across different devices you use. For instance, we use information collected about your use of our Services on your phone to better personalize the content or features you see when using our Services on another device, like your tablet, or to measure whether you took an action in response to an ad we showed you on your phone on a different device.

Information Collected by Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies: Like most websites and applications, we and our service providers use cookies, web beacons, and other technologies to collect information. Cookies are small data files stored on your hard drive or device memory that help us and our service providers improve our Services and your experience by seeing which areas and features are popular. Most web browsers are set to accept cookies by default.

Application Usage Information We use third-party solutions to analyze the use of the Nicegram app to work on improving its quality, attracting new audiences, and for our internal team performance measurements. The information we collect is anonymized and cannot be tied to a specific user. The third-party solutions used in the Nicegram app are:

  • Google Play Services
  • Firebase
  • Facebook SDK (Android only)
  • AppsFlyer (Android only)

Any Other Information You Choose to Provide You may provide other information directly to us. For example, we may collect information when you fill out a form, update your account, interact with the Services, apply for a job at our company, communicate with us via third-party social media sites, request customer support, or otherwise communicate with us.

User-Generated Content The information you publish in public chats and channels is available to other users of the Telegram messenger and its clients. You must not include offensive, insensitive, upsetting, disgusting, exceptionally tasteless, or simply creepy content. Telegram may permanently delete your account and all associated data for violating the rules for posting public content or receiving complaints from other users.

Filtration Method for Unwanted Material All information published by you or other users is stored and processed by Telegram.org servers. Telegram is developing algorithms to automatically detect inappropriate content and block access to it.

Offensive Content Reporting Mechanism You can report abusive user behavior through the context menu when highlighting a post or on the target user’s profile page.

Blocking Offensive Users from the Service You can block any user, after which you will not receive any messages from them. Blocking is available on the target user’s profile page.

How We Keep Your Information Secure The security of your personal information is very important, and we take numerous steps to safeguard it.

For example, we use the latest official Telegram client source code and monitor it for updates. All improvements to the official client will be carried over and made available to Nicegram users.

To implement Nicegram’s functionality and work on improving it, we only use developments from trusted sources, such as Google’s Firebase.

Even so, despite our efforts, no security measures are perfect, impenetrable, or 100% secure. We cannot ensure or warrant that the information you transmit to us will remain secure or will not be accessed, disclosed, altered, destroyed, or used in an unauthorized manner. These are the risks of being online and conducting business online.

Of course, if we learn of a security breach, we may attempt to notify you electronically so that you can take appropriate protective steps.

Please keep in mind that by using Nicegram, you are using Telegram’s services, and we have no responsibility for the data you share with Telegram.

Assignment, Change of Control, and Transfer All our rights and obligations under our Privacy Policy are freely assignable by us to any of our affiliates in connection with a merger, acquisition, restructuring, sale of assets, or by operation of law or otherwise, and we may transfer your information to any of our affiliates, successor entities, or new owner.

Managing Your Information If you would like to manage, change, limit, or delete your information, we allow you to do so through the following tools:

Services Settings: You can change your Services settings to manage certain information available to other users. You can manage your contacts, groups, and broadcast lists or use our block feature to manage the users with whom you communicate.

Changing Your Mobile Phone Number, Profile Name and Picture, and Status Message: You must change your mobile phone number using our in-app change number feature and transfer your account to your new mobile phone number. You can also change your profile name, profile picture, and status message at any time.

Deleting Your Telegram Account: If you would like to delete your account, you can do so on the deactivation page. Deleting your account permanently removes all your messages and contacts. All groups and channels you’ve created are orphaned and left without a creator, but admins retain their rights. This action must be confirmed via your Telegram account and cannot be undone. As mentioned above, all your data will be flushed from our system: all messages, groups, and contacts associated with your account will be deleted. However, your contacts will still be able to chat in the groups you’ve created, and they will still have their copy of the messages you sent them. Termination of a Telegram account is irreversible. If you sign up again, you will appear as a new user and will not get your history, contacts, or groups back. People who have your phone number in their contacts will be notified. The new user will be displayed as a separate conversation in their messages list, and their conversation history with this new user will be empty.

Children’s Privacy Our Services are not intended for children under 13. Therefore, we do not knowingly collect personal information via our websites, applications, services, or tools from anyone under 13. In the EEA, certain default privacy settings will be applied to users under 16 and can only be changed if the legal guardian instructs so in writing.

Privacy Policy Updates We will update this privacy policy as needed to ensure it is current, accurate, and as clear as possible. Your continued use of our Services confirms your acceptance of our updated Privacy Policy.
